F.C Cefn have been crowned champions of the welsh nationalleague 2011/12.

FC Cefn, founded as recently as 2006, capped a memorable2011/12 campaign by gaining more than the point needed to secure the Premier Division title with a game to spare.  FC Cefn beat Corwen 4-2 in front of a bumper crowd on a nice warm and sunny afternoon at The Muga. During the presentation Mr Steve Williams mentioned that it’s been31 years since the trophy was won by a Cefn team when Cefn Albion won the Division One title (top division) back in 1980/81. It is a great achievement by the club and well done to everyone who has been involved. This day will go down in history and will never be forgotten.

FC Cefn proved they are a force to be reckoned with after defeating fellow title contenders Venture in their own back yard. The hosts made the brighter star tbut the Cefn defence were more than equal to anything that came at them. FC Cefn’s started to edge their way into the game and a Nicky Williams shot found its way into the Venture net making it 1-0. FC Cefn were now in complete control of the match and soon doubled their lead with a Paul Mazzarella rocket from 30 yards out flew into the top corner to give FCC went into the half time break 2-0. Venture started the second half in similar fashion to the first but this time their efforts were rewarded with an early goal through Andy Torrence. Nicky Williams won FCC won a penalty mid-way into the second half, but FC failed to capitalise when Venture keeper Simon Roberts saved the penalty which was takenby the returning Stuart Thornley. Nicky Williams then grabbed his second goal of the game to restore FC Cefs two goal lead. Venture set up a tense finale when Richard Jones netted to make the score 2-3 but Nicky Williams who had terrorized the Venture defence all day won another penalty which he coolly slotted away to cap a fine display along with his hat-trick.

The club would like to say a massive thank you to Greg and Dilys Jones residents of Trevor, who have now donated a total of £100 to F.C Cefn. The kind couple kindly came forward 10 months ago and decided to donate £10 a month to our Club. Greg and Dilys are the mother and father of Barbara Shaw who is the mother of young F.C fanatic Daniel Shaw.Daniel is a very keen F.C Cefn supporter and is ever present up at the Muga come rain or shine, it’s very rare that he misses a fixture supporting both senior teams when he can. Dan also helps out with the website, getting heavily involved on the guest book and providing excellent Match reports which helps keep the site rite up to date.

The club would like to say a big thank you to the Shaw Family for their involvement and generosity to our Club.
